Rich Text Editor

The Rich Text Editor allows to format the copy for your web pages very easily, without the need to know any HTML. Its "Word like" interface is very familiar to most computer users and the icons can be used to easily format your copy.

The Rich Text Editor is at the core of UGAL, the content management system, and is used to edit every page of your website. Using the Rich Text Editor to format your copy is very intuitive to most computer users, because its interface is very similar to the word processor you are probably already familiar with.

Format your copy

Clicking on a few icons allows to format the copy of your web pages, a very important step in improving its readability.

For example:

• Emphasize important text.
• Create bullet lists like this one.
• Create links to your website or to external websites.

Insert Images

Using the rich text editor, adding an image to your page is only a click away. Click on the "Image" icon to upload the image from your computer to your web page:

Insert maps

For some reason, we love maps at UGAL, specially Google maps. Embedding a map in any page of your website is made real simple, with the dedicated map icon:

Simply enter the address you'd like to map, to get the result shown on the right hand side.

Work with tables

Tables can be very useful to define the layout of your pages or to display tabular data. The Rich Text Editor fully supports creating HTML tables, including the merging of cells, adding new rows or columns, and aligning individual cells or the entire table.

A work in progress

Rich text editors are one of the most tricky functionalities to implement in modern web applications. UGAL relies on the open source project TinyMCE for its Rich Text Editor. Whenever a new version is released (bug fixes, new browser support etc...), we make sure to implement it as quickly as possible. One of the advantages of using a web hosted software to manage your website.
