Intranet

Intranet is an option that allows to password protect your entire website or some of its pages. You can grant "members" additional access rights to edit the content of parts of your website.
The Intranet option is a powerful functionality that opens a lot of doors for your website, from password protected community websites to offering premium content to your members or communicating confidential content to your partners or customers.
Password protect the entire website or some pages only
You can select the level of protection for the entire website (public or private) and individually for the pages of your website:

When allowing everybody to see the pages, you can give additional rights to the members of the different groups. In the screenshot above, members of the group "Blog Authors" will be able to create and update their own news.
Manage your Intranet and its members
The Intranet tab gives you access to a collection of tools to manage your Intranet settings, its members and groups:

Invite users to become members of your intranet
Enter the name and email address of the people you would like to invite to your Intranet. Each will receive an individual email with a link to click to choose a password and activate their account on your website.
Once they have activated their account, members have access to your website with the rights specified for the groups they belong to.

Users inherit access rights to your Intranet via the groups they belong to. You can manage those from the group management page:

Optional, works with all UGAL websites
Intranet is an option that can be activated on any UGAL website, regardless of its plan (planA, planB or planC). It can be activated from the "Your Account" tab and comes with a short wizard for the initial setup.
