Switching emails to HTML
June 28, 2012

UGAL sends a lot of emails every day: emails triggered by humans (contact forms, product information requests, news comments, password reminders etc...), and automated emails sent by our systems (e-commerce order notifications, billing etc...).
We just flipped the switch, and all emails sent by UGAL are now in HTML format (it was a mix of text and HTML before).
Besides looking a bit prettier, we made a few improvements to the emails UGAL sends:
- Emails sent on behalf of your visitors (e.g. contact forms) do not include any of your UGAL account information: simply hit the reply button to answer your visitor.
- Wherever it makes sense, emails from your visitors are now sent using the name of the visitor as the "From:" email header.
- We added more context to the Subject line of each email, whenever possible. For example, the title of a product information request email contains the name of the product, making it easier to identify emails when they are listed.
- All emails should now read perfectly on mobile devices, without horizontal scroll bars. Drop us a line if it does not work on your device, we will troubleshoot.
We monitor closely the emails that are being sent out and will probably make a few arrangements over the next few days, but please make sure to contact us if you notice something that is not working right.
