| ||Newsletters is without any doubt your best weapon to efficiently and quickly reach your audience. We have just released a bunch of new features to help you better manage your newsletters and subscribers.|
- Emails AND names: the subscription box now includes both an email address and a name field (only the email is required, the name stays optional to subscribe).
- Subscribers management: much better tools to help you review and make changes to your list of subscribers. They are available from the tools section of your dashboard.
- Export capabilities: easily export your entire subscribers list for use with any third party newsletter service. Useful for those of you who prefer to send out HTML newsletters. Just make sure to always include the unsubscribe link at the bottom of your newsletters.
A word on HTML vs TEXT newsletters
UGAL websites come with the ability to send out unlimited TEXT newsletters to your subscribers - for free. Many of you have asked why we do not provide the ability to send out HTML formatted newsletters. The main reason is that compared to web browsers, email clients are very picky when it comes to displaying HTML. Properly formatting an HTML email requires much more attention than a web page, making it difficult to offer "do-it-yourself" tools like we do with the rich text editor for the web pages.
UGAL might offer limited HTML capabilities in the future, with for example a single banner image on top of the emails. For more complex layouts, for which a web designer needs to be involved, UGAL now plays well with specialized third party service providers like Campaing Monitor and Constant Contact by allowing you to export your subscribers list.
Keep it mind however that TEXT newsletters remain a very efficient weapon: 100% reliable, easy to setup and to send out (right from your website), and free!
